After the liberation of Foochow on 17 Aug 1949, silver yuan postage was allowed for two weeks (Aug 17-Sep 1). bearing rare "Domestic Postage Paid / Shihpu" postmark. On reverse with Shihpu originating cds. and Taipei arrival cds. This type of DPP handstamp has only 3 existing examples, earlist one used on July 14, this is the latest one on Sep. 14, as Chekiang area was mostly liberated in May 1949, there was a shortage of ROC Unit stamp and revenue surch. Silver Yuan stamps. Therefore, this DPP handstamp was applied to indicate postage paid. Ex Mr. Patrick Choy's Collection.
