Shanghang was liberated on Sep 10. This is a post-liberation usage example of Silver Yuan. Though Canton had been the Kuomintang capital during late April to mid October 1949, its General Post Office did not provide other postal districts with Kwangtung Silver Yuan stamps. Their cross-district and post liberation usage are therefore rare and to date only four are recorded; all in Fukien.

this Chungking local cover was sent on 1949 (Nov 29), stranded in the post office during the day of liberation: the (Dec 1) post mark indicates that it was handled on the day after liberation and was eventually delivered to Shapingpa (Dec 2). The cover witnessed the last Day of Nationalist rule in Chungking.

This is the last post-liberation usage example of Silver Yuan and is the cover took longest time (391 days) to Taiwan. Hard to check what happened to this cover. We can only assume that it was mislaid in Canton post office and was found at a much later date before delivery to Taiwan.
