including one Japanese-issued postcard depicting General Chiang Kai-shek and Nationalist troops marching with the “Blue Sky, White Sun” flag, and one American Artvue postcard showing Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek and Madame Chiang in garden setting. Both fine examples of early 20th-century foreign-issue portrait and military-themed postcards of Republican China.

Depicting (from left to right) Marshal Chang Hsueh-liang, Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek, and General Feng Yu-hsiang in Nanking, this photo was taken after the National China Congress urged unity against Japan in Manchuria, symbolizing the brief alliance of China’s three key leaders before renewed divisions.

The other captures Lord Louis Mountbatten, the newly appointed Allied Commander in the Southeast Asia Theatre, shaking hands with General Ho Ying Chin, China's Minister of War and Chief of Staff. The meeting took place at the Military Affairs Council Headquarters, where new strategies against Japanese forces were being planned. A historically important pair reflecting high-level Allied cooperation and China's diplomatic presence during the Second World War.

Kallem; together with a picture postcard depicting Chiang smiling in traditional Chinese attire, published in France by Cie des Arts Photomécaniques, Paris, and captioned “TCHANG KAI CHEK, Président de la République de Chine.” Both unused, the former with mild toning, the latter with minor creases and handling wear. A cross-cultural pair of Western-issued portraits of the Chinese Nationalist leader, notable for their distinct artistic and documentary styles.

Scarce wartime propaganda postcard.
issued January 9, 1950, showing Madame Chiang Kai-shek (Soong Mei-ling) delivering a radio address from New York, pledging her husband’s continued resistance against communism after the Nationalist retreat to Formosa (Taiwan), and declaring that “Russia will never own China.”
According to the official Chinese Central News Agency, Col. Chiang Wei-Kuo, the adopted son of Chiang Kai-shek, had arrived in Peiping. Earlier reports had indicated that he was trapped with the army southwest of Suchow. Please view.
