Hankow and Shanghai were liberated on 16 May and 27 May 1949 respectively which means that even it was 17 months after liberation, Hankow PO still accepted Silver Yuan postage (domestic unit stamp equals to 5c silver yuan). f.w. Hong Kong KGVI 4c, tied by Victoria cds., along with circular T mark and f.w. ROC postage due 1c pair, tied by Amoy cds. On reverse with Hong Kong cds., framed US Consular General Hong Kong c.d.s, Swatow transit and Amoy arrival cds. The cover was first sent within Hong Kong where U.S.S. Edsall anchored. Then the cover was sent to Amoy as the warship departed for Amoy. However, since Amoy was occupied by the Japanese forces, the cover was sent to Swatow by sea and then sent overland to Amoy. Cover with water stains but still a rare war-time mail.

f.w. Swedish 1 kr issue, tied by Stockholm cds, along with registered label and red "94" manuscript (the number of letters recorded by his father). This cover was sent during the first expedition of Sven Hedin between 1893 and 1897 in which he went through the Pamir Mountains into Northern Tibet and finally arrived at Peking in 1897 before returning to Sweden.
