1938 (Jun 29) Hong Kong to U.S.S Edsall cover, redirected to Swatow and Amoy, f.w. Hong Kong KGVI 4c, tied by Victoria cds., along with circular T mark and f.w. ROC postage due 1c pair, tied by Amoy cds. On reverse with Hong Kong cds., framed US Consular General Hong Kong c.d.s, Swatow transit and Amoy arrival cds. The cover was first sent within Hong Kong where U.S.S. Edsall anchored. Then the cover was sent to Amoy as the warship departed for Amoy. However, since Amoy was occupied by the Japanese forces, the cover was sent to Swatow by sea and then sent overland to Amoy. Cover with water stains but still a rare war-time mail.
