- Description: This piece replicates the green jade “Emperor’s Treasure” from the Qing dynasty’s “Twenty-Five Imperial Seals.” Since Zhang Tiecheng, the Chinese jade carving master, created the emblem seal for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, he has been recognized as a national inheritor of jade seal-making techniques. “Seal” refers to the imperial stamp of the emperor, with a legacy spanning over two thousand years. The Imperial Seal is the most dazzling star in Chinese seal culture. The materials, craftsmanship and meaning of the jade seal are all legendary. Green jade, symbolic of “Dynasty Built to Last”, is a primary material in these royal seals, as seen in the 13 jade seals among Emperor Qianlong’s twenty-five. They were stored in the treasure chests of the Hall of Union Peace in the Forbidden City, one treasure and one chest. This piece meticulously replicates the shape and form of the original, with a dragon entwined on the knob and a polished seal surface, exuding imperial majesty and wealth.
