Cover mailed during the Ching postal rate reduction period - 1904 (Apr 18) red band cover from Chengtu, Szechwan double-registered to Peking,
f.w. CIP 1c and 10c paying the 11c postage, tied by Chengtu bisected cds. with adjacent boxed “R” registration handstamp numbered “1150.” On reverse with Shanghai lunar year transit “甲辰三月廿四” and Peking arrival. The cover was conveyed by river along the Yangtze to Shanghai, then forwarded to Peking. The recipient annotated “四月初二日郵政局交”, confirming receipt on May 16, 1904, with a total transit time of nearly one month.
