The card bears several important postal markings including the Yinkow / Field Telegraph Branch No.13 cancellation dated 10 July 1901, with transit and arrival markings at Harbin on 1 Aug 1901, St. Petersburg on 28 Aug 1901, and Helsingfors on the same day, clearly illustrating the mail route from Manchuria through Russia to Europe. The Russian Yingkow tax marking is an unrecorded type and the Harbin marking is also of an unrecorded type, giving the item notable postal history significance; well preserved with clear strikes, it represents an attractive and valuable example of Russian military postal operations in Manchuria and the transcontinental mail route to Europe.
