depicting scenes of the Qing imperial court, respectively showing portraits of the princes of the blood, the Empress Dowager and Emperor with royal family members, and the enthronement ceremony of the Emperor. Finely produced early foreign-issued color postcards featuring Qing court themes.
including views of the infant emperor and his younger brother in palace settings, one hand-tinted and another inscribed “The Baby Occupant of the Dragon Throne.” Printed in monochrome and color-tinted formats, each showing early foreign-issued portrait scenes of the last Qing emperor. A scarce trio illustrating the childhood of Emperor Puyi, issued shortly after his enthronement.
one depicting Emperor Guangxu (光緒帝) with handwritten French annotation, the other showing portraits of Qing imperial family members including Empress Dowager Cixi and the Emperor (trimmed small). Both early foreign-issued portrait postcards featuring late Qing court figures.
wrong descriptions stating that he was Puyi, sixteen-year-old last emperor of the Qing dynasty still residing within the Forbidden City after the fall of the dynasty, reportedly preparing to take three consorts in marriage.
depicting the last Emperor of China, Hsüan Tung (Puyi), and his Empress seated side by side in traditional attire. The card bears bold English caption at top within black border. Some creases and surface crack, otherwise a scarce contemporary issue of the early Republican period.
Two press photographs of Pu Yi and Wan Jung, 1932–34, taken during Japan’s early occupation of Manchuria, showing the last Qing Emperor and Empress together. Pu Yi was installed as “Chief Executive” in 1932 and later as Emperor in 1934, marking the rise of the Japanese puppet regime.

A representative selection of Japanese-made Manchukuo-era postcards, finely printed with strong historical and political significance.

showing the interior and furnishings of the Kangte Emperor’s (Puyi) temporary palace in Hsinking, Manchukuo, including the audience hall, banquet room, ceremonial vessels, and imperial car.
featuring portraits of Emperor Puyi (溥儀), the national flag of Manchukuo, government and palace buildings in Hsinking (新京), and naval or imperial motifs. Several cards bear embossed or multicolor designs, produced to commemorate the founding of Manchukuo and imperial celebrations. One card is fake, other VF-F.
including scenes of official reception ceremonies, military review, and naval inspection, with some hand-tinted examples. Issued in Japan during the Manchukuo period, these postcards document the state visit of the former Qing emperor in his role as Manchukuo’s ruler.
