1860 (Aug 25) incoming cover from England to a Lieutanent onboard HMS Staunch in China,

sent "Via Marseilles", f.w. QV 1p x 2 and 4p, tied by barred 250 obliterator. On reverse with Devonport origin cds. and London (Aug 27) transit. HMS Staunch was sailed to Tungchow along Peiho when the Anglo-French Allied Force was approaching Peking. When the mail arrived at China, the ship was probably stationing at Tungchow. With 1987 certificate.
