Cover mailed during the Ching postal rate reduction period - 1903 (Mar 16) red band cover from Yantai double-registered to Tengchow,
franked on reverse with eleven CIP 1c paying the 11c postage, tied by Yantai bisected cds., with boxed violet handstamps “煙台壹號信櫃” and “源順德代理郵政分局”. The front bears an “R” registration handstamp numbered “1346.” The cover arrived on Mar 19 with “山東登州郵政分局” arrival. This cover was sent by the prominent Ching official Tuan Fang, and is a rare and highly desirable example.
