A pair of 1903 Sichuan Rupee, both showing the bust of the Maharaja of Kashmir facing left, in imitation of the Indian rupee type,

with Chinese characters “四川省造” on reverse amid ornate floral design. Struck during the late Qing period for use in western Sichuan, these issues were intended for trade with Tibet and India. Silver-gray tone with light wear, grades about Very Fine to Extremely Fine. Ungraded coin SOLD AS IS, NO RETURN. Please view.
