P.S, on 7 MAY 1926, the city of Sian was surrounded by the troops of Warlord Liu Chen-hua. Postal communication ceased between Sian and external postal routes. In 28 NOV, the troops of Feng Yuhsian and Yu Youren reinforced Sian and ended the surrounding. During the surrouding, two out of four Sub-post offices in Sian were out of service while other two were operational but the business slumped. Strength of 200,000 soldiers were engaged in the battle of Sian lasting for seven months. The number of casualty was about 50,000. This battle weakened the strength of warlord and facilitate the North Expedition, favoring the Eastern attack by Feng Yuhsiang's troops. This is the only known example directly reflecting the battle of Sian. With original illustration card. Ex-Yasoichi Nakajima collection.
