1949 (Dec 24) Kwangtung Peihai to Hong Kong Silver Yuan cover, f.w. Kwangtung Unit stamp x 1, value 5c Silver Yuan, matching the cover to Hong Kong postage, tied by Kwangtung Peihai cds. Peihai was liberated on Dec 4. Under the leniency policy, Military Control Commission allowed this letter to be delivered after the expiry of the grace period. The provincial authority of Pakhai changed from Kwangtung to Kwangsi soon after the inauguration of PRC. Since then it is an important seaport for the South West region.
