mixed franking with Japanese ovpt. CHINA 3s & CIP 1c, 3s uncanceled while 1c tied by Shantung Chefoo lunar year cds. (very early usage). Japanese 3c uncancelled due to not acceptable to the postal convention, and therefore unpaid and taxed at 10 centimes with 10c. Chiffre Taxe stamp cancelled by triangle mark in Paris, France, plus a large "T" mark underneath. The receiver was not in France and thus returned to Chefoo. Therefore, on the back side of cover, cancelled by a boxed "INCONNU", via Chefoo French P.O. cds. in purple color, Chefoo Imperial Post Office bilingual cds.,
