1895年8月2日進口封自日本寄台灣近衛師團步兵第二聯隊，貼日本票1錢雙連及2錢1枚，銷小野日戳，旁蓋駐新竹紅色第三野戰郵便局日戳。附信紙內容。1895年，日本控制了新竹（6月26日）、竹南（8月9日）及苗粟（8月14日）。該局在1895年7月19日至1896年3月31日間運作。反映了乙未戰爭。
