1880年代中式紅條封自棟軍後路轉運局寄上海瑞記洋行，背面寫有毛筆字送遞指示及蘇州碼郵資字樣。林朝棟於中法戰爭中有力支援清軍並曾多次成功擊退法軍以守住台北。
