including views of Peking streets, the Flowery Pagoda at Canton, hillside residences in Hong Kong, Shanghai market scenes, the Temple of Heaven, Boxer-related images, and portrait subjects including “Chinese Queen” and “Chinese Empress,” some with explanatory English text on geography, customs and trade; also including six photographs of Peking architecture and street scenes, showing traditional rooflines, courtyard-style official and educational buildings, the Peking railway station clock tower and urban views, reflecting Chinese city life and architectural development from the late Ching and Republican periods to the early PRC, generally fine condition.
