sent by the Japanese organization “Ni-Hachi Kai” following its fifth-anniversary gathering commemorating the January 28 Shanghai Incident. Addressed to Lieutenant General Tashiro Kanichiro, then Commander of the Japanese China Garrison Forces in Tientsin (formerly Chief of Intelligence of the Shanghai Expeditionary Army during the Incident). Bearing a Shanghai postmark and signed by twenty-five participants of the Incident, including future Army General Kita Seiichi, who at the time served as Staff Officer and Chief of Intelligence of the Shanghai Expeditionary Army.
