1916 January 25 large size official cover from Judicial Department Peking (large red square seals on cover back) to the High Court of Justice in Kweichow, stampless when dispatched, with Peking Third Branch Office Express Delivery Letter No. 759 handstamp alongside Peking 3rd branch office issuing c.d.s. Yuan (altered from WU) Nian January 25. It transited Yuanchow (Hunan, Yuan Nian February 7), Chenyuan (Yuan Nian February 18) arriving Kweiyang Fifth Year February 22. Like the neighbouring Yunnan Province, Kweiyang was against Emperor Yuan and the entire cover with its contents were returned to Peking after the conclusion of the Hung Hsien Empire (March 23, 1916) on Fifth year April 21, arriving Peking Fifth year May 10 with brush manuscript on cover front "returned on May 12" having been censored at Kiukiang on the way because warlords began to carve their own sphere of influence and documents of this nature was censored. A remarkable historical document of Kweichow Province's defiance to accept order form Yuan Shih Kai, and the introduction of censorship by various warlords after the end of the Hung Hsien Empire.

1899 incoming newspaper wrapper to Shanghai, Shantung, Tientsin and Shuntefu, the wrapper faulty at right side, bearing a bilingual "PAID" cachet on front, along with Shanghai LPO cds and Techow Post Office tombstone mark. On revese showing various post markings, including 5 different tombstone marks, 2 bisected cds., one Taian oval datestamp and 2 red Paoting Dollar cds. One showing "900" in year, and one missing year, converted "N" variety. Exhibits clear postal route. VF-F.

1897 (Jan 29) Peking to Shanghai stampless cover, bearing a bluish circular CHINESE IMPERIAL POST OFFICE -PEKING POSTAGE PAID cachet, along with I.G. OF CUSTOMS Peking cds. On reverse showing brown Customs Shanghai arrival. The POSTAGE PAID cachet was prepared for use in the Imperial Post period (1897 Feb 2) due to the insufficient postage stamps supply in the new era, but this cover was mailed on Jan 29 before the establishment of Imperial Post. Showing a perfect example of the Chinese Post transited from Customs Post to Imperial Post. Cover folded in the middle and with some creases, still a wonderful item. VF-F.
