Welcome to John Bull Stamp Auctions Ltd.

Current Auction Highlights

Thanks to your support, we achieved excellent overall results in our 2009 Autumn sale, my first auction at John Bull. Of course, everyone may have already heard about the outstanding results in our auction of the large format and the regular "Whole Country is Red" stamps. Every once in a while, we are still receiving messages from our customers, telling us that they have read this report in their own local newspaper. We have lost count of how many countries reported the news of our auction. We must confess that we are very surprised by such overwhelming reports from worldwide media. We are glad that we can bring philatelic, in particularly Chinese philatelic, to the forefront so the entire population has noticed. I like to call this our "Whole Country is Red" campaign.

On the heels of such a successful sale, we are trying our best to do even better. These catalogues show our continuous effort. You may have also heard that we were lucky enough to have Mr. Wan Weisheng at our last auction when we auctioned the "Whole Country is Red" stamp. In this upcoming sale, Mr. Wan will be here again for this, when we will auction off 8 more copies of this stamp. Now we did one-better than the last sale with these 8 copies.

Mr. Wan is so impressed with our efforts that we also have the privilege to sell 3 of his original drawings that these stamps have been made from, "Child Eating Sugar-coated Berries," "The Great Wall in the Summer," and "Swan at Play." This is the once-in- a-lifetime chance for you to buy these unique works-of-art that have been converted into stamps. Each of these spawned very famous and popular stamps.

We are offering our usual staple of popular items from Red Revenues to Cultural Revolution stamps. Both a small 4 cents and a $5 Red Revenue will be available for your purchase, also with a couple of large multiples of the 1 cent and small 2 cents. We continue with offering a Mei Lang Feng souvenir sheet and 3 sets of imperfs. Not to be forgotten is a full pane of the 1980 Year of the Monkey. This will likely set another market high.

You will be receiving 3 catalogues. As we are offering 400+ lots of Postal History of Chinese Imperial Post and 750+ lots of Hong Kong stamps and postal history. Both of these will be in separate catalogues. Also included are 3 information sheets, where we highlight these topics. Hope you find these useful.

We have moved to the 12th floor of our building in early March. We have also moved the auction venue back to the Excelsior Hotel in Causeway Bay, where past auctions have been held for over 20 years.

Just to re-iterate our position, we lead in Hong Kong philately and will do our best to remain as leader of the pack. We will do this the "NO Bull!" way. We play no games and we do not own any of the material offered. We will treat both our consignors and buyers fairly, as we want to be treated by you the same way.

Have fun in this sale.
